Home of the modeling savants....Celebrating forty years of modeling fun, education, and history in 2025!

The boss man displayed his 1/25 Dirt Track Late Model from AMT Warren Stewart Dodge. He added dirt tires and wheels. Left out the windshield (probably lost it!), added rock guard. The kit was poor with many fit issues…some major such as the roll cage and frame. He painted the frame with Testors gloss black, the body with Testors graphite gray metallic enamel (super nice finish), and the interior with Krylon Gloss classic gray. Decals from his spares box. This guy is so good it is an honor to sit next to him at the meeting!!!!
Let’s start off with Mr. Seekman. Boy, this guy builds great models!
First up we have his 1/48 (all three) Eduard F4F-3 Wildcat which he painted with AK3G and Gunze Mr. Color. He used Eduard’s “Space” interior, Ultracast resin seat, and kit decals. Weathered with Ammo by Mig washes and pastels. Amazing!
Mark Jahsan is the master off all modeling subjects. Here we have two car models: the 1/25 AMT 1965 Mustang A/FX (factory experimental dragster). The driver was Dick Brannan from Madison Heights and sponsored by Bob Ford in Dearborn. Won the AHRA Winter Nationals at Irwindale.
#98 is the Monogram Shelby Mustang GT-350R. SR002 prototype racer. Legendary Ken Miles was the initial driver and he won the car’s first race and the championship in ’65, ’66, and ’67. The car was successful and great job, Mark!!
His third model is one of his favorite kits, the Accurate Miniatures TBM-12 Avenger painted with the rare Hataka Orange Line lacquer, Quintas 3D printed interior, Eduard Brassin seats, Superscale Decals, and weathered with Ammo by Mig washes and pastels. Exquisite!
Next up is Doug’s Academy SBD Dauntless painted with AK3G and Gunze Mr. Color, Kelik 3D interior, Ultracast seats, Eduard Brassin rear guns, Furball decals, and it was weathered with Ammo by Mig washes and pastels. I’m speechless….
Our new old and very bald member, Jody Dunning showed off his ’64 Ford Fairlane. He said it was his first attempt at a junker car. Big deal, that’s all I build! The chassis is from a ’66 Dodge Charger. He dropped it on the floor, scrapped the paint off in places, buried it in sand, and covered it with sticks (for a diorama). I think this guy knows how to make a junker car! Cool, Jody!
That's all for this month. See ya all at the pot luck!!!
