Home of the modeling savants....Celebrating forty years of modeling fun, education, and history in 2024!

Here is Doug's first model: This is the academy 1/48 P-38j painted with model master enamel. Decals are from aeromaster. Weathered with oils and pastels. The kit had some moments but after everything was said and done it was okay.

1/350 USS San Francisco. Trumpeter kit with White Ensign PE set. Shown as she appeared in early 1942 in Measure 11, Sea Blue on all vertical surfaces, Deck Blue

Another reissue of a kit from childhood. Two Mustang connections: Barris used a lot of 289’s in his vehicles, good power in a small package. He also used a P-51 canopy.

This is the Tamiya 1/48 A6M2 zero painted with model master enamel. Decals are from the kit. Weathered with oils and pastels. Photo etch interior from Eduard. Paint chipping simulated with aluminum paint on a small piece of foam. Not much to the kit, But went together really good. Nice kit.

Mark Jahsan brought us three models this week…here’s the first one!  1/50 SMER kit, pretty crude by today’s standards, but it’s a cheap way to get an interesting scheme. Decals by Bestfong, depicting aircraft number 3 of the 8th fighter squadron of the Chines AF

At some point, Seekman is going to run out of models(!) so you need to send me your photos and writeups!  See ya next week!
