Home of the modeling savants....Celebrating forty years of modeling fun, education, and history in 2025!

Here we have another great Tamiya kit of the IL-2M3 Sturmovik painted with Hataka Orange Line lacquer, Quintas 3-D interior, decals from SuperScale, QuickBoost seat.  Weathered with Ammo by Mig washes and pastels.  Another home run!

You’re probably thinking I saved the worst for last….and you would be WRONG!  Bringing up the rear (did you really think I forgot???) is Mr. Doug Seekman.  Here are three 1/48 aircraft models.  First we have the Roden Gloster Gladiator that he built for Stan…and it was a horrible kit! (find more kits like this Stan!  HaHaHa!!!!)  Painted with Gunze Mr. Color, Quintas 3-D interior, decals from the kit, and weathered with Ammo by Mig washes.  Stan will be pleased!

Tom Miller (a great guy by the way!) brought in his 1/35 Tamiya British universal carrier. He built it out of the box and painted it with Ammo and only took two weeks.  Believe it or no, it was powered by a V-8 flathead built by British Ford(?).  Great job, Mr. Miller!

It is what you have been waiting for!  Back by popular demand, we have Jody Dunning’s 1/25 two, count ‘em, two Amt/Ertl kits built twenty years ago. He says this was his first time building something different!  I’ll say!  He calls it the Fat Lee and was inspired by Dan Jayne.  Way cool, Jody!

Up to bat is Mark Jahsan…with two P-47’s that he built 30 years ago.  One is the Otaki P-47D Razorback representing the 348th F6 in the Philippines Co. Bill Dunham and the second P-47 is the Monogram P-47D Bubbletop decorated for the Mexican AF also in the Philippines.  Decals for both were from the same Errormaster, I mean Aeromaster sheet.  It is obvious you had the talent way back when, Mark!

See you in two weeks for the next S&T.  Thanks, again, Jody for the Pizza!

Let’s start things off on the right foot and look at JR’s latest race car: it is a pavement sprint car and started life as a 1/24 Monogram Steve Butler kit.  He swapped tires and wheels, added aluminum side panels and nose, made larger side panels on nose and wing, and braces on top wing.  He hand painted the numbers…no he didn’t…only a machine could do that quality!
He painted the frame with Testors Extreme Lacquer (Deja Blue) and the body and wings with Model Master Enamel (Bright yellow).
Nothin’ to see here….just keep movin’ along!!!! 😉

Next is a rather rare bird…it is the only kit in 1/48 of the OS2U-3 Kingfisher by the Monogram from 1967.  Painted with Hataka Orange Line lacquer, Lone Star cowling and engine, Eduard PE seatbelts, and he scratchbuilt the .30 caliber in the rear cockpit.  I’m going to let that one slide, Doug…..  Great job, Doug!
