Home of the modeling savants....Celebrating forty years of modeling fun, education, and history in 2024!

Hey, get off your lazy butts and send me some photos! See ya next week!

We will kick things off with Doug Seekman’s 1/48 hasegawa f-15c painted with hataka orange line lacquer. Decals are from bullseye; true details aces 2 ejection seat. Center line drop tank casted from resin. Aerobonus sidewinder missile caps and remove before flight tags. Weathered with ammo mig panel washes. Probably the best kit of the f-15 out there. Good kit.We will kick things off with Doug Seekman’s 1/48 hasegawa f-15c painted with hataka orange line lacquer. Decals are from bullseye; true details aces 2 ejection seat. Skill Level’s odd model is this Central Valley Model Works 1/87 (HO) 150’ truss bridge based on a SP (Southern Pacific) prototype in Piru, CA built in 1902 by the N.Y. Bridge Company.  Built this several years ago and was cleaning up my photo area and decided to go ahead and take a couple of photos.  If it looks like a difficult build…you would be correct!  The deck portion is mostly injection molded parts.  Most of everything else is individually cut.  Piece by piece.  In my humble opinion, this kit is sort of a “rite of passage” in the model railroading world due to its difficulty.  In other words, if you haven’t built this kit, or something similar, you’re not really a model railroader!  😉  I enjoy MODEL railroading for the MODEL part.

Here is model #2: 1/48 revell F-89D scorpion painted with model master enamel; Decals by blackbird. True details ejection seats; Weathered with pastels and oils. A real oldie but goodie. Only game in town when it comes down to available kits. Nice kit; crappy decals. Thank goodness for the decal company blackbirds.
