Home of the modeling savants....Celebrating forty years of modeling fun, education, and history in 2025!

#2 for Stan is this beautiful Condor A-36 Apache painted with Hataka Orange Line lacquer.  He used the kit decals and weathered with Ammo by Mig washes and pastels.  Doug said this was a bad, terrible kit.  We wouldn’t have known if you hadn’t told us!  (PS was used as a dive bomber)

Doug Seekman brought in SIX aircraft models today built for Dale, Stan, and Tom Howard!
First up is his 1/87 Roco Ju-52 for Howard.  It was painted with AK3G acrylic and decals were from XTRA Decals.  Way cool. Tom is happy!

Stan wanted this and the next three models.  This is the Academy P51-C painted with Gunze Mr Color, kit decals, and weathered with Amoo by Mig washes and pastels.  What do you think, Stan??  That’s what I thought! 😉

I think it is safe to say Doug Seekman has finally learned how to build aircraft models....IN VOLUME!!  ;-)See you in two weeks.  Think about bringing something to the Ridout...you will be reimbursed for your out of pocket expense.

For Dale we have the old 2000 Special Hobby Ju-388-0 again painted with the AK3G and was weathered with Amoo by Mig washes and pastels. (Green with radar aerials) Doug says this was a bad kit.  If he says it is bad, it is bad!  You would never know it!  This and the remainder of Doug's models are 1/72.

This is the DML P-38M Lightning night fighter.  You can tell because it’s black!  😉 Painted with Gunze Mr. Color, kit decals, and weathered with pastels.  Great job on all, Doug!

As seen on the homepage, here is Mark Jahsan’s phenomenal vignette or diorama which he will enter in the Ridout’s small category.  This is 1/350th scale for crying out loud!!  There are six tiny figures but I don’t think you can see all of them from this angle.  It is a WWII Japanese Seaplane base with A6m2-N Rufes by Yao’s Studio-3D print.  Model RR palm trees and shrubs.  Water is a resin that cures with UV light called…ready for this….UV Resin.  Not even a brand name…you can find it at Hobby Lobby. Base and hut are sheet plastic.  It is breathtaking, Mark!

Stan has real appetite for quality aircraft models!  Here is Doug’s  Academy Navy SB2C-4 Helldiver “The Beast”.  Doug said it was a nice kit. It is a handsome beast!  It was painted with Gunze Mr. Color, kit decals, and weathered with Ammo by Mig washes and pastels.
