Home of the modeling savants....Celebrating forty years of modeling fun, education, and history in 2025!

Stan Carrier, the 3D printing guy, brought in two very interesting items.  They were both printed by his brother-in-law on a FDM EDM Bambu Labs printer which uses filaments or lines.  First is a 1/32 M109 Paladin.  It printed everything you see…the turret had about 7 parts and the hull about 12 plus all the individual track links.  The green was the printed color.  That is amazing. The 3D printed finishes are getting better and better!  Cool!

We saved the biggest for last!  Here is Mark Welch’s 1/16 Heng Long 3818-1 Tiger I.
Here we go: 2.4Ghz 6/0 electronics, metal running gear, working suspension and barrel, real exhaust smoke, sound effects, turret rotation, gun elevation, real hull recoil, 6 mm main gun, factory painted, all details hand painted, after-market exhaust pipes and muzzle cover.  Represents 303 heavy  tank battalion Kirst 1943.  We were disappointed that he didn’t take at shot at Doug!  Impressive, Mark!

The third jet is the Fujimi TA-4 Skyhawk painted with Gunze and Hataka, decals from Superscale, and weathered with Ammo by Mig washes.  This proves you can be crazy and still built fantastic models!

Here is the Italeri KFIR-C2 painted with Gunze and Hataka.  Decals are from the kit and weathered with Ammo by Mig washes.  This guy is crazy….but good!

We will kick things off with Mark Jahsan.  Mark brought in a piece of really cool trench art from WWII.  The ashtray and hoop are made from a 105mm shell casing.  The engine nacelles are slugs, the rear fuselage is casings.  Mark made new tail feathers and painted to match.  Very interesting…thanks, Mark!.

Next we have Stan’s actual size Star Trek Type II phaser as seen on TV!!!  We were absolutely blown away by the smooth finish of the printing and then Stan’s expert rattle can paint job.  Hoby cow this looks good.

Doug Seekman, when he wasn’t acting like a crazy Italian, showed off thee immaculate 1/72 Israeli jets that he built for Stan Carrier.
First we have his Revell F4E Phantom painted with Gunze and Hataka paint.  Decals were from the kit and weathered with Ammo by Mig  washes.

That's all there is!  I quit!  See you guys and gals, at the luncheon!
