And now for skill level 1.55’s double 1/48 Tamiya whammy:  their Japanese Navy Komatsu G40 bulldozer (Americanized) and their German 3 ton 4X2 cargo truck (Americanized).  The bed of the truck is heavily modified and includes real scale wood flooring.  MR headlights were added as well as custom decals.  The hydraulically operated ramps were scratchbuilt.  The bulldozer has MV headlamps, a scratchbuilt exhaust, and Komatsu was removed from the radiator.  Both kits were a fun build!

What a crowd!  Great to have Jody and Spencer back.  Heck, even Chris was there!  Happy days!

The Boss brought in a spectacular racecar.  He took Revell Richard Petty ’70 Superbird streetcar replica and turned it into the early 1970’s Tiny Lund NASCAR Superbird.  JR added a roll cage, changed the interior, tires and wheels, and added interior stuff and exhaust.  He used Testors DeJa Blue one coat lacquer and Testors clear cote lacquer.  JR used the Power Slide #55 Tiny Lund Baughman Dodge Daytona decals.  This guy is amazing!

Next we have his Special Hobby AF-2S Grumman Guardian also painted with AK’s 3rd generation acrylic paint.  He used the kit decals and Eduard superfabric seatbelts.  This large anti-sub aircraft flew off escort carriers and had a crew of 4.  Beautiful work, Doug!

Mark Jahsan brought in another spectacular ship model!  Wow!  Boy, were we impressed!  It was the 1/350 Tamiya USS Missouri BB-63.  He used 2/3 of the Lion Roar PE.  Along with the PE, it included turned brass 16” barrels.  They even supplied PE canopy frames for the seaplanes.  Good grief.   He used Rust-Oleum red oxide primer for the hull red.  Looked fantastic.  It is safe to say that Mark is a master ship modeler!

Home of the modeling savants....Celebrating forty years of modeling fun, education, and history in 2024!

That's it for another S&T!  See ya in two weeks for more fun and games!

Douglas Seekman appeared with his customary two 1/48 aircraft models.  They were U.S. Navy planes this time.  First is his Hasegawa F4U-4 Corsair painted with AK’s 3rd generation acrylic.  He used Scale Aircraft Conversions landing gear struts, Sky’s decals, Eduard superfabric seatbelts, and he scratchbuilt the seat. He weathered this puppy with Ammo by Mig washes and pastels.  I think Doug is finally getting the hang of building aircraft models!  Don’t you agree?!
